Defend Your Own Backyard

I just wanted to encourage the many, many residents who have legitimate concerns about this warehouse!!!

You may find that some do not understand why we are fighting against this. They may very well be the same people who will later complain when they can no longer find a decent way to get onto 83. They may not understand that this warehouse has no guaranteed occupant, no guarantee of jobs, and no guarantee that it will benefit York County residents. But the investors are sure to benefit as they disrupt our water supply, roads, health, safety and well-being.

Nevertheless, regardless of what others do and do not understand, remain vigilent.
  • We KNOW what this will do to the traffic and the already 'failing' intersections. WHY? Because WE live here.
  • We KNOW what this will do to the school buses, the well water supply, and our access to emergency response in Manchester Township. WHY? Because WE live here.
  • We KNOW what this will do to our property values. WHY? Because WE have worked hard and value our homes. NO ONE has the right to tell us that we should not value our homes!!!

Keep talking neighbors. And when you meet a doubter, remember that you are not alone in fighting for your home, your safety, your land, and your well-being.

Contacting the Media

MEDIA INVOLVEMENT!!! THE MORE THE BETTER!!!!!!!!! Contact the media! Let your voice be heard.

Here are ways you can help:

1. PLEASE WRITE A "Letter to the Editor" to the York Paper. This is the most read part of the paper! Please be considerate but firm!!

2. WHEN SPEAKING TO THE MEDIA ABOUT THIS PROJECT, BE SURE TO BRING UP THESE POINTS!!!!!!!:
  • SAFETY ISSUES: School buses, traffic congestion that could interfere with emergency routes and services, increased accidents.
  • TRAFFIC ISSUES: Point out the Board Road/Church Road Bridge backup; The impact traffic will have on all residents and commuters to this area
  • COST ISSUES: the costs that the township will absorb as a result of placing this in an unsuitable location: road widening, road repair, increased emergency services, traffic problems.
