If You Are A Company Who Is Considering Leasing this Space

If You are a Company who is considering Leasing this potential space, PLEASE KNOW that there has been an intense opposition to this project.

This is our home, our neighborhood, and we are not willing to fade into the sunset or put our heads in the sand. We live here, 24/7, and we continue to be united in preserving the safety and value of our homes. Please be aware: We have nearly 100 signatures of neighbors and local businesses who oppose the building of this Warehouse and the widening of the Susquehanna Trail.

IT IS, AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE, THE DESIRE OF THE NEIGHBORS THAT IF THIS WAREHOUSE IS GOING TO BE BUILT:

  • A MUCH SAFER TRUCK ACCESS BE BUILT VIA CRONE ROAD.
  • SCREENING OF THE WAREHOUSE AND THE PARKING AREAS AND TRUCKS SHOULD EXCEED THE PLAN MINIMUMS, AND SHOULD SEEK TO COMPLETELY SHIELD THE NEIGHBORS FROM SEEING THE WAREHOUSE, THE TRUCKS, AND THE LIGHTS.

****WE WILL KEEP A SHARP WATCHFUL EYE ON YOUR TRUCKS AND ON THE REGULATIONS AND LAWS THAT MUST BE MET. WE WILL NOT HESITATE TO CALL FOR ENFORCEMENT.

For further discussion on these matters, you may contact Darlene Weir, community organizer, via her email : dnweir@hotmail.com

Please put Bear Warehouse in your subject line. Thank you.

Keep up your signs

Hello neighbors,

I have had some neighbors ask me if they should continue to proudly display their No Warehouse yard signs, and the answer is YES!!

If you are willing, continue to display your sign. In the event that a company takes an interest in the property, these signs will alert them to check out this website. At that time, they will find our information, as well as a post about how it is the desire of the residents for the entrance to be moved to Crone Road, as well as for the company to provide as many buffers as possible to shield the neighbors from the impact.

So thank you for continuing to display your signs.

Remember to take heart. It is not over until it is over!!

Disappointed but not Discouraged

We were all saddened last night as the Board of Supervisors of Manchester Township voted to approve of the Warehouse Project.

Our general feeling, with possible exception given to parts of the February meeting at Manchester Township, was that our Representatives did not want to listen to us. We were an 'interference' to their clear agenda. This was strongly communicated through body language in the beginning, and then by blatant requests that we not speak up, or by other attempts at voting quickly - thereby avoiding the public. It is sad that this type of representation is even considered "representation." These are sad times when neighbors can resound that they all felt slighted by those voted to represent us.

We left the meeting astounded that the Supervisors would scold us for not getting legal council. Or getting our own traffic study. Is it not THEIR job to ensure the safety of residents? In fact, they admitted that, had we not protested, they would not have taken some of the minor safety measures they later implemented.

I feel the most compassion for our unfortunate neighbors, Clarence Hare and Roger Lehr, whose quality of home life will be greatly impacted by this decision.

But, we are appreciative of the blessing of neighbors, a passionate effort, and the revitalized neighborhood spirit.

If new news arises, and new meetings occur, we will inform you of such here at NoBearWarehouse.

NEW PETITION and IMPORTANT Update

Hello Friends and Neighbors,

Unfortunately, our Planning commission voted last night to recommend the Susquehanna Distribution Center plans to our Board of Supervisors. This is not the end of our struggle. While we had public outcry, it was felt by nearly all neighbors in attendance that our fears and concerns were not addressed by those who were supposed to represent us.

But this is not over! It does us no use to fuss and complain, yet we must still have our voices heard. What we need is ACTION, and plenty of it!!

We cannot do this alone. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

Here are the newest ACTION ITEMS that you can help with RIGHT NOW!! We MUST act quickly!! We have less than 2 weeks!

1. SIGN OUR NEW PETITION (click here and scroll down and follow the instructions)

2. PUT THE APRIL 13th BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING ON YOUR CALENDAR (Tues. 4/13 at 7PM)! COMMIT TO COMING!

3. VOW TO BRING A FRIEND OR NEIGHBOR WITH YOU TO THE MEETING. Numbers count, and each body counts!

4. CONTACT YOUR BOARD OF SUPERVISOR MEMBERS! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!! SHARE YOUR CONCERNS IN A KIND MANNER! (click here and scroll down to see a list of Supervisors)
